Happily, I was invited to Universidad de Concepción to give a workshop on how to instruct R&D and research in undergraduate students. The workshop was attended by medical doctors, nurses, obstetricians and other professionals (and professors) of biomedical and basic sciences. I centered the conversation in what we do at the DILAB and our major in engineering design and innovation at the school of engineering. How we deal with counterparts, how we manage teams of students, lesson plans and all the logistics behind it. I also talked about my experience working with r&d (with a bias on the user) in biomedical endeavors such as the work done with Simulmedic and the research done with my students on orthoses. The attendees were spectacular! If you want to read more about the workshop, here is a post from the School of Engineering’s 2030 program (in Spanish)
