[ENG] Since this post, where we told everyone that we were the finalists for the Airbus GEDC 2018 Diversity Award Sponsored by Unesco, that we hadn’t posted a thing! Well, we were the winners of the award on 2018, and recently, in the GEDC2019 Conference that took place in Santiago de Chile, we had to talk about how the award helped our pre-engineering program SaviaLab (today sponsored by FIA). The award helped us to get recognition for the program that started in 2014, where we decided to empower local rural schools all around Chile in techniques related to early innovation and technology. Today, more that 3,500 school students and more than 200 teachers have participated from several regions in Chile. Bringing the gap in education a little bit closer. Our engineering design students participate as monitors, teachers and researchers. They resignify their careers throughout the participation in the program. We are proud of our team that is working since 2014 in the project.
[ESP] Desde el post cuando contamos que nos éramos finalistas para el premio de diversidad de Airbus Global Engineering Deans Council patrocinado por UNESCO, que no habíamos contado qué habíamos hecho con el programa. Bueno, lo ganamos, y recién en la conferencia GEDC2019 de este año en Santiago de Chile, nos tocó comentar cómo este premio ayudó a el reconocimiento de nuestro programa de pre-ingeniería hoy financiado por la Fundación para la Innovación Agraria. El premio ayudó a que nos reconocieran a nivel universidad, siendo que es un proyecto que partió el 2014 buscando empoderar, a través de la educación, a colegios rurales en todo Chile. La idea es aportar al cierre de la brecha en educación. Hoy más de 3.500 estudiantes de media y superior y más de 200 profesores han pasado por el programa. Nuestros estudiantes de ingeniería participan como monitores, profesores e investigadores. Ellos a su vez resignifican su carrera mediante la participación de enseñar a otros. ¡Estamos muy orgullosos de nuestro equipo que ha trabajado desde el 2018 en este programa!
