Our multidisciplinary team Simulmedic (which involves Fernando Altermatt MD, Gonzalo Gho, Mechanical Engineer and me as a designer – plus a young team of designers and engineers) has been advancing on the development of our peripheral venous puncture simulator. Testing has been key for the device to shape, reshape and adapt our device putting the people at the center of the technology. This is specially important considering that this device has an educational purpose for the instruction of health and emergency workers. We need that this simulator “resonates” and “makes sense” to them from a learning point of view. Today we are working with a public grant from CORFO 18ITE1-100680 which will allow us to package the technology and transfer our device to society.
